There are so many kinds of pears! I wonder how many varieties there are. These red bartletts look red and green at the same time kind of like mangoes. These pears are small and very lumpy.

It's Tuesday, it must be figure painting day! This little sketch had a nice rythm to it. It has an unfinished look which I like. this model was very expressive and comfortable with herself. The big window and blue sky outside cast a blue shadow on her.

This painting was a exercise in trying to use as few brush strokes as possible so as not to have it looked over-worked. I have also been experimenting with a slight halo effect around the top of some of this produce. I think it makes a nice little glow.

I paint lemons a lot. Yellow is just a challange to paint. Darker yellow in shadow is rich looking if it comes out right. This is the textural style I like to paint, thick and juicy.

Eggplants are so interesting. So soft and smooth. Everytime I paint one I look and look until I see the red. So I mix bright red orange into the purple and blue and crimson, but I dare not mix it too much or I loose that red that seems to show through. It never quite shows up enough in a photo, but I got it in this one!

Making an apple pie on Sunday got me interested in a half-peeled apple, so I saved one to use for a subject today.

This goblet must be about 140 years old. It is very thin crystal, very fragile. I have two of them. One to give to each daughter some day.
